Reactive Trace Substances

About

Reactive trace substances such as hydrocarbons and nitrogen oxides are emitted in enormous quantities from biogenic and anthropogenic sources into the atmosphere. Measuring their concentration and the exploration of their degradation pathways helps to understand the complex processes how pollutants are removed from the atmosphere.

Research Topics

  • Energy related Emissions – Characterization and measurement of emissions from energy conversion processes, in particular transport
  • Organic trace gases - Investigating the chemistry of organic trace gases in the atmosphere
