Labteam

The lab team deals with the processing of brain tissue. This includes tissue preparation, fixation, embedding, cutting, staining and first steps of evaluation.

The range of methods used in the lab includes large sections of paraffin-embedded whole brains (Architecture and Brain Function) and the preparation of large cryosections for 3D-Polarized Light Imaging (3D-PLI; Fiber Architecture). The lab also performs all necessary steps for quantitative in vitro receptor autoradiography (Receptors), including the preparation of cryosections, the binding of radioactively labelled neutrotransmitters, exposure, development and digitalisation.

In addition, the lab team also trains biology laboratory technicians and enables students to gain initial experience in experiments tissue processing. (Masterstudiengang "Translational Neuroscience")

The team bundles the lab knowledge and ensures that the various advanced techniques are applied with equally high quality. The competences are constantly being updated and expanded through regular training.

In addition to a high degree of accuracy and motivation, one important factor must not go unmentioned: enjoy your work!
