Dr. Martin Müller

Head of Process Engineering Electrolysis,
Head (acting) of Electrochemistry Electrolysis

Dr. Martin Müller is head of the department of Process Engineering Electrolysis and acting head of the Electrochemistry Electrolysis Department of the Institute of Electrochemical Process Engineering (IEK-14). Dr. Müller received his doctorate from RWTH Aachen University. For many years he worked as a research associate at IEK-14 in the field of direct methanol fuel cells (DMFCs). In 2006, he became head of the DMFC stack development group, and in 2012 he took over as head of the DMFC or process engineering of electrolysis department. Dr. Müller's research focuses on electrochemical power engineering, including electrochemistry and process engineering of electrolysis, DMFC plants, i.e. stack technology, process and plant engineering. Dr. Müller was also the leader of the Portable Energy Systems and Light Traction Working Group under the Advanced Fuel Cells Implementing Agreement of the International Energy Agency (IEA). He is currently an active member of the working group "Electrolysis".
