About us
The Institute of Energy and Climate Research – Electrochemical Process Engineering (IEK-14) contributes to research and development for the use of electrochemical conversion technologies and chemically catalyzed fuel synthesis in applications in the mobile and stationary sectors. By dovetailing basic research and application-oriented development, IEK-14 expedites the marketability of electrolyzers and fuel cells as well as the implementation of synthetic fuels.
Profile
IEK-14 provides technologies as well as processing concepts and models for the sustainable energy systems of the future that use fuel cells, electrolysis, and fuel synthesis.
Organization
IEK-14 focuses on researching and developing electrolyzers and fuel cells as well as fuel synthesis and safe hydrogen use. Work takes place across two fields of work in a total of four R&D areas.
Committee work
IEK-14’s national and international reputation in the field of fuel cells and hydrogen technology is reflected in the fact that IEK-14 scientists are members of and participate in national and international committees.
