The Central Library is divided into three sections, seven teams and one staff unit. The head of the library is Dr. Bernhard Mittermaier. The deputy head of the library is Barbara Scheidt.

The Central Library is responsible for supplying the employees of Forschungszentrum Jülich with a comprehensive and high-quality range of literature and information.

The Central Library is an innovative information service provider in the field of science and research. In this context, the library undertakes its own projects, cooperates with modern information centres and publishers, and organizes conferences at the interface between science and information. The results of this work are documented in numerous journal articles, conference papers, books and other publications.

The Central Library of Forschungszentrum Jülich regularly organizes specialist conferences and workshops.
