Collaborative Doctoral Projects Program
With Collaborative Doctoral Projects, we aim to foster the formation of new connections and development of enduring synergies between institutes here at Forschungszentrum Jülich. The projects interconnect supervisors from at least two different institutes with a joined doctoral researcher thereby opening new ways to bridge scientific topics and create links between domains and methods. For doctoral researchers this offers a unique chance to explore new reserach approaches at the interface of different disciplines and to address highly relevant scientific questions, while profiting from the expertise of a team of supervisors.
Collaborative Doctoral Projects selected for funding in 2023
In the first half of the year, scientists from two institutes of Forschungszentrum Jülich proposed innovative, collaborative doctoral projects. In an internal, science-led process, nine outstanding project ideas were selected and advertised for application. The candidates for the following five projects successfully defended the planned research at a scientific symposium and received a funding commitment for a project duration of four years from the Board of Directors.
