Helmholtz Energy Materials Characterization Platform (HEMCP)

The Helmholtz Energy Materials Characterization Platform (HEMCP) is a research infrastructure supported by the Helmholtz Association.

Here, instruments and analytical methods from seven different research institutions are brought together under one virtual roof for the purposes of materials research specifically for energy technologies. Forschungszentrum Jülich contributes its facilities and materials research methods for photovoltaics and electrochemical systems. The focus is on new methods of in-situ XPS/PEEM – surface analysis for the investigation of (electro)chemical reactions – as well as transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and spatially resolved atom probe tomography.
