5 - 6 October 2017, Unkel, Germany
The third international workshop on the topic of accelerator-based high brilliance neutron sources will take place in Unkel, in the Cologne area, Germany on 5-6 October. The workshop is organized by the Jülich Centre for Neutron Science of Forschungszentrum Jülich.
The high brilliance accelerator-based neutron source HBS represents a unique infrastructure for neutron analysis (imaging methods and scattering) to be used in a multitude of scientifc disciplines such as physics, chemistry, biology, geology, materials and engineering sciences in the future.
The workshop will cover the latest developments in the area of targets, moderators, beam extraction, beam guidance and neutron optics, which will make possible the realization of an extremely compact neutron source, with accelerators of relative low final particle energy.
