GCS/NIC Computing Time Projects

Description

Within the Gauss Centre for Supercomputing (GCS) and the John von Neumann Institute for Computing (NIC), JSC and its partners provide supercomputer resources for researchers from the computational sciences in Germany.

Eligible

Eligible are scientists with affiliations of German universities or research facilities. Here, the nationality of the applicant (“Principal investigator, PI“) is irrelevant.

Available project types

Available project types for production are

  • Large Scale Projects that require a large amount of computing resources over longer periods of time. In detail, projects are classified as “Large-Scale” if the minimum requirement summed over all requested JUWELS modules is >= 45000 EFLOP per year.
  • Projects which do not fall into the category “Large Scale” which are called GCS/NIC Regular Projects.

Test access to JUWELS for the preparation of Large Scale or Regular Project applications is available. For further information, please see here.
