Contact and Friction Mechanics

Contact mechanics, due to the nature of surface roughness, is a multi-length scale elastoplastic problem, and naturally involves the material mechanical behavior at the small length scales. There, molecular dynamics, dislocation plasticity, strain gradient plasticity, conventional plasticity and statistical modelling are adopted for problems at the different length scales.
